Donation Requests Notice to Charitable Organization: We can not afford to help charitable organizations anymore. President Obama and the Democratic Congress has put into law a HUGE TAX ON CIGARS to fund FREE HEALTH CARE for children whos parents make up to $87,000 per years. It is called the SCHIP bill and is now law. Because of this new law, ALL of the funds (and more) that we may have contributed to organizations like yours have been confiscated by President Obama and the Democratic Congress and we can not and will not contribute, donate or sponsor your event or organization. The legislation gives free health care through 2013 for 7 million children (30 years or younger) whos families make too much money for them to be eligible for Medicaid; expands coverage for another 4.1 million uninsured children; and makes legal immigrant children and pregnant women eligible for the program without the previously mandated five-year waiting period. What does make too much money mean? $87,000 per year. You read it right. If a family makes up to $87,000 per year, cigar smokers pay for their children's healthcare. A child is defined as 30 years or younger! Wow, thats a new one! Why is this significant? YOU ARE PAYING FOR IT! As of April 1, 2009, the federal side of the program is funded primarily with an increase in the excise tax on tobacco, with the tax on cigarettes which increased from 62 cents to $1.01 a pack and a 40.26 cents tax on every cigar. Thanks Obama! All to give free health insurance to families that make too much money.
