 Light as a cloud...
Pipe Craftsman Maurizio Tombari was born in Pesaro, Italy in 1953 and received a diploma in painting from Accademia di Belle Arti in Urbino in 1978.
 T he Le Nuvole spigot pipe has a detachable mouthpiece. The conical base of the mouthpiece (tenon), which is made of silver, fits perfectly into the conical socket on the shank of the pipe (mortise), which is also made of silver.
From 1978 until 1996 he worked for pipe makers Mastro de Paja e Ser Jacopo, at the same time he was an interior designer and he took part in painting exhibitions.
LE NUVOLE BRICCO
Le Nuvole was created in 1996, as an expression from these experiences.
Pipes, like clouds, unrepeatable and light in weight.

LE NUVOLE ZED
Le Nuvole Pipes are available at Davidus in very limited quantities! Usually you can only purchase Maurizio's pipes from Italy. Because we are friends, Maurizio has sent us some of his newest creations to sell in our stores. You will find Le Nuvole Pipes to be extremely light and the best smoking pipes available. When you smoke one, you will discover what great pipes they are.
Maurizio travels to different regions to hand pick his briar. One of his briar suppliers is a Calabrian briar cutter that lives in Tuscany. Most of his briar is grown in Tuscany, but Maurizio also finds Calabrian and Corsican briar. All of them are great, just a little difference in the grain and flame.
Maurizio writes:
"The most important thing is to choose the best quality briar, and I always do. In more than ten years, I have developed a good and faithful relationship with my briar suppliers.
The most important thing about the taste of my pipes is the seasoning "method".
A while ago, a good Italian client mailed me: "I have many pipes of artisans, generally in the batch of the same brand. Some of them are good, other less. I have eight Le Nuvole Pipes. All of them are great and with the same flavor. I've only found this with Dunhill's"
"I season all of my briar blocks for, at least, three years (usually more) in my workshop, that is completely isolated and humidity controlled. This permits a slow and uniform seasoning. The cutting, boiling and seasoning is extremely important. Once I have a perfect piece of briar, I can create a beautiful pipe...light as a cloud."
