The Landon House
The town of Urbana Maryland is host to quite a few historic landmarks. One of its prominent landmarks is the Landon House which was used by the 155th Pennsylvania Volunteers as a resting point for Union Troops marching toward the Battle of Antietam on September 16, 1862. The house would host a ball for Confederate soldiers before eventually becoming a field hospital during the civil war.
Special Order 191
The order was drafted on or about September 9, 1862, during the Maryland Campaign. It gave details of the movements of the Army of Northern Virginia during the early days of its invasion of Maryland.
On September 13th, Corporal Barton W. Mitchell of the 27th Indiana Volunteers, part of the Union XII Corps, discovered an envelope with three cigars wrapped in a piece of paper lying in the grass at a campground that Hill had just vacated. The hill on the Best farm where the lost order was discovered is located outside of Frederick, Maryland, and was a key Confederate artillery position in the 1864 Battle of Monocacy. A historical marker on the Monocacy National Battlefield commemorates the finding of Special Order 191 during the Maryland Campaign.
I've very happily been part of the Davidus Cigars team since March 2016. I love to learn and read so I have really focused on learning everything I can about premium tobacco and the cigar industry; while developing my own palette for cigars.
I am also passionate about art and I love to spend countless hours creating photo realistic drawings. My favorite mediums to work with are charcoal and watercolors.
I love antiques; things with stories and history. I have a collection of antique books, mostly classic novels. I have my cherished variety of vintage hats and am always on the look out for interesting thrift store finds. I love music and dancing. In my store you will get to experience my vast musical pleasures from 40's Jazz and Du-wop/Motown to Classical Symphony and Alternative Classic Rock.
Music, Art and Cigars. Just to name a few of my favorite things.
