![]() Montecristo Epic No. 2 50 X 6 Pyramid Wrapper: Select Ecuadorian Habano Binder: Nicaraguan Filler: Special selection of Nicaraguan and Dominican Vintage 2007 Appearance: This cigar is a true pyramid which tapers from one end to the other, the wrapper is smooth and a bit oily with some small veins with the color of cocoa. The wrapper has the aroma of sweet chocolate and the foot has cocoa and light spice... I used a double blade cutter and cut the end on a 45 degree angle as seen in the photo above, after lighting the draw was very good all the way to the end.
First 3rd: starts with a strong flavor that hits you in the back of the throat but this fades and turns more to medium full and the 5 year old 2007 vintage tobacco shines through and smooths it all out and some spice comes through and cocoa rounds out the flavor. Second 3rd: The ash holds up a solid 2" showing how well constructed this cigar is, the burn is even with only light touch ups needed. Flavor slight Cocoa with spice and roasted nuts but still medium full in strength and body. Final 3rd: This cigar doesn't Change flavor to drastically through the entire session and stays complex and smooth in body and flavor. I smoked the cigar down to the last 3/4" and it never became hot it just picked up some strength bet was never harsh. Final thoughts: This is the most complex and full flavored Montecristo I have ever had outside a Cuban Montecristo but was very refined and smooth despite the medium full body, overall a great cigar that even a newer smoker would love but a more experience smoker will appreciate and savor. This cigar would be a great cigar to lay down in your humidor to age and see if the great cigar could really become one of if not the best cigar you ever had!! I'm doing just that and will let you know!! Joel Hewitt Reisterstown/Westminster stores.

I was once given a cigar while working at someones house, the man who gave it to me happened to own a cigar shop in the Baltimore area and he handed me a torpedo cigar and cut it on a 45 degree angle and I asked him the same question. He indicated that cutting a torpedo cigar on that angle helped open the cigar end up so it smoke cooler like cutting the end off a normal cigar. If you like the flavor you get from using a punch then by all means cut it off strait.

You know, now that you say that it makes since. I don't us punches anymore because of that same reason.

This is an amazing cigar, from one end of the box to opposite end cousin you can't see any difference in the appearance, it is a true mirrored image of the next. This cigar's tobacco's have been hand picked from it's infancy and loved all the way to the store with approvals and inspections to insure it's superior presence, feel and smoke. One of the best and a real treat. I recommend buying a box to share with friends.
